You can have additional features added to any line in your home. Whether you subscribe to Basic Phone or Grande USA, feel free to add any of the following popular Grande phone features:
Caller ID
Know who is calling your line before you ever pick up the phone. Caller ID displays the name and/or number of the calls you receive, helping you decide if you want to take a particular call and to see who has called when you have been away from your phone.
How do I use this?
- This feature requires a special Caller ID unit with the Call Waiting Feature.
- You must subscribe to Call Waiting and Caller ID to use this.
- Check manufacturer's instruction guide for compatibility.
- Allow your phone to ring at least twice.
- Read the display on the Caller ID unit.
- Answer the call, ignore it or let it roll over to voice mail.
Personalized Ring
Along with your current line, personalized ring allows you to add up to 3 "virtual" lines that connect to your existing phone. These virtual lines have designated phone numbers with special ringing patterns, all connected to your main line. Your main phone will have one ring and the other virtual line(s) will have a unique ring – great for calls for your children, teen, fax machine and roommates.
How do I use this?
- Simply call Grande and we will assign an additional number to your phone line.
- You can then assign this number to your fax machine, teen or roommate to use that same day.
Call Waiting
Don't ever miss another important phone call again due to a busy phone signal. Call Waiting gives you the power to receive calls while you are already talking on your phone with a simple “beep” notification.
How do I use this?
- Listen for the special tone indicating you have another incoming call.
- To take the incoming call, press and release the hang up/flash button to put the first caller on hold and answer the second caller.
- To return to the first call, press the hang up/flash button again, leaving the second caller on hold.
- To move between two callers, press and release the hang up/flash button
- To end either call, ask one caller to hang up, press the hang up/flash button. This will return you to the other caller.
Call Waiting ID
Be able to see who is behind the "beep" of your call waiting with Call Waiting ID. Decide for yourself if you want to switch over and take the other line by seeing who is calling while you are already on the phone.
How do I use this?
- This feature requires a Caller ID unit.
- You must subscribe to Caller ID to use this.
- Check manufacturer's instruction guide for compatibility.
Call Forwarding
Forward your home calls to another line of your choice with Call Forwarding. The features gives you the capability to forward your calls to another room of the house or to a line you have with you while you are on the go. Quit missing urgent calls and start catching them again wherever you go.
How do I use this?
- Pick up the phone and press *72.
- Wait for a dial tone, and then enter the phone number where the calls are to be sent. If the call is answered on the other end, this is your confirmation that calls will be forwarded.
- If you receive a busy signal or the call is not answered at the other end, repeat the procedure until the call is answered or calls will not be forwarded.
- To turn off Call Forwarding, pick up the phone and press *73.
- Listen for two short tones followed by a new dial tone. The feature is now turned off.
Three-Way Calling
When face-to-face meetings and discussions aren't an option, you can use Three-Way Calling to talk to more than one person at a time. Add a third person to your current call or place a second outgoing call to friends, family and colleagues - all from the convenience of your home phone.
How do I use this?
- Pick up the phone and listen for a dial tone.
- Call the first person and let them answer.
- Press and release the phone hang up/flash button to put the first person on hold.
- Listen for a new dial tone.
- Call the second person.
- After the second person answers, press and release the hang up/flash button to add the first person and establish the three-way call.
- I the second person's line is busy or s/he doesn't answer, press and quickly release the hang up/flash button twice to return to the first person.
- The first or second person may hang up at any time during the call and the conversation between you and the remaining person can continue.
Speed Dial
With the single touch of a button, Speed Dial lets you add your favorite phone numbers to your phone's memory. Instead of manually dialing the same, favorite numbers you call over and over, save time and energy by programming them into your Speed Dial.
How do I use this?
- Assign a one-digit Speed Dial code (numbers 2 through 9) for each phone number you wish to store.
- Pick up the phone and press 74# and wait for a dial tone.
- Enter the one-digit Speed Dial code you would like to assign, followed by the phone number.
- Press # and listen for a tone to confirm your entry.
- Repeat the steps, using a different Speed Dial code for each additional phone number or to change a code previously programmed.
- To use, pick up the phone and listen for a dial tone.
- Press the Speed Dial code assigned to the phone number you wish to call and press #.
Call Return
Redial the last number that called you, whether you answered the call or not, with Call Return. This timesaving feature lets you easily redial the last number that called instead of actually dialing the same number repeatedly.
How do I use this?
- Pick up the phone and press *69.
- Follow voice prompts.
- If the line is busy, hang up.
- A special ring will sound on your phone when the line is free.
- Lift the handset and you will hear a ringing tone indicating that the number is being redialed.
- Call Return to a busy number works for 30 minutes, even if you place or receive other calls.
- To cancel Call Return, pick up the phone and press *89 then hang up.
Auto Redial
Auto Redial automatically calls back a busy or unanswered number saving you time and energy by never having to redial the whole number again. Do other things around the house while your phone continuously calls the line back until the other party is off the line.
How do I use this?
- Make a call. If the line is busy, hang up.
- Pick up the phone again and listen for a dial tone.
- Press *66 and hang up.
- A special ring on your phone will let you know when the busy line in free.
- Pick up the phone and listen for a ringing tone indicating that the number is being redialed.
- Auto Redial to a busy number works for 30 minutes, even if you place or receive other calls.
- If you call a number that is not answered, pick up the phone and press *66 to try the number again.
- To turn off Auto Redial, pick up the phone and press *86 then hang up.
Anonymous Call Rejection
Incoming calls from callers who have blocked their number can now be rejected with Anonymous Call Rejection. You can now avoid uncertainty and never take another call from an anonymous or private number again.
How do I use this?
- Pick up the phone and listen for a dial tone.
- Press *77.
- Two busy signals followed by silence will confirm that this feature is enabled.
- To turn off, pick up the phone and listen for a dial tone then press *87.
- Two busy signals followed by silence will confirm that this feature is disabled.
- When a call is rejected, the caller hears the recorded message, "We're sorry, the party you are trying to reach is not accepting calls from anonymous numbers. Please hang up and try calling again without blocking your number, or call the operator for assistance in completing your call."
Call Blocker
Eliminate receiving calls from people you don't want to talk to with the ability to block calls. You can now select specific numbers you don't wish to call you and live in peace knowing you can choose the people with whom you want to talk.
How do I use this?
- Pick up the phone and press *60.
- Follow voice prompts to set up list of numbers to block.
- Follow voice prompts to exit, add or remove numbers.
- To block the last incoming call, pick up the phone and press *60.
- Follow voice prompts to block last incoming call.
- To turn on or off, pick up the phone and press *60 (A recording will confirm that this feature is now off.)
Call ID Blocker
Protect your privacy and identity with Call ID Blocker. This feature blocks your name and telephone number from being displayed on the Caller ID box of the person you are calling.
How do I use this?
- Pick up the phone and press *67 to use on a per call basis.
- Call our Customer Care Center to set up Call er ID Blocker on your line permanently.
- If you have the feature on your phone permanently and want to turn it off on a per call basis, pick up the phone and press *82.
- When using Caller ID Blocker, the called party may see a variety of listings on their Caller ID unit. These include "Anonymous", "Out of Area", "Private", "Unknown" or "Unavailable."
Selective Call Forwarding
Send selected incoming calls to another phone line so that you don't ever have to miss an important call when you leave your home or business. Choose which calls you want to forward to a different phone line while you are away from your main line with Selective Call Forwarding.
How do I use this?
- Pick up the phone and press *63.
- Follow voice prompts to set-up, add or remove numbers to your Selective Call Forwarding List.
- To turn on or off, pick up the phone and press *63.
- Follow prompts for instructions.
- Phone numbers not on your list will ring to your phone as usual.
Distinctive Ring
Decide for yourself which ring you want to hear when a particular person calls. Distinctive ring gives you the option to add a distinct ring tone and call waiting "beep" for up to 30 pre-selected numbers - a convenient way to know who is calling and never miss an important call.
How do I use this?
- To set up priority list, pick up the phone and press *61.
- Follow voice prompts to create a list.
- To add or remove numbers from the list, pick up the phone and press *61.
- Follow voice prompts to add or remove numbers from the list.
- To turn on or off, pick up the phone and press *61.
- To operate the distinctive call waiting tone, you must subscribe to Call Waiting .
Grande Voicemail
Answering machines are a thing of the past with Grande Voicemail. Never lose another call or message again by ensuring that your voicemail is connected to your traditional residential phone. You can add up to 5 sub-mail boxes for different people in the house. Plus, you can also add call forward busy and pager notification so that callers can leave you a message while you are on a call or away from the phone.
How do I use this?
- To set up your personal voicemail, pick up and press *78.
- When you hear the system voice prompt, enter your default pass code, 9999 (we recommend you change this pass code as soon as possible.)
- Follow the system instructions to customize your voicemail.
- To listen to your messages from home: pick up the phone and listen for the "flutter" dial tone. This means that you have a new message.
- Press *78.
- At the voice prompt, enter your pass code.
- Follow the voice prompts.
- To set up a sub-mailbox, the primary voicemail must be set up first.
- Pick up the phone and press *78.
- When you hear the voice prompt, enter the default pass code for the sub-box. (Press *1 as the default pass code for sub-box 1, press *2 as the default pass code for sub-box 2, etc. We recommend you change these pass codes as soon as possible.)
- With Pager Notification: When the mailbox receives a message, the voicemail system performs an out-dial to activate your pager. You must provide Grande with the pager number or call the Customer Care Center with it after you activate the feature.

Toll Restriction
Toll Restrict prohibits anyone from direct dialed, operator assisted or direct dialed international long-distance phone calls from your line, including Directory Assistance so you will never need to worry about any unwanted charges on your account. When these calls are attempted from your phone, the caller will hear an announcement informing them that long-distance calls are restricted.
